If you're searching for the best Lake District wedding venues for your 2027 wedding, you're in the perfect place. As an award-winning Lake District wedding photographer, I've spent years photographing weddings across Cumbria's most beautiful venues, from classic country houses and lakeside hotels to rustic barns, mountain-top celebrations and intimate elopements. The Lake District offers some of the most spectacular wedding locations in the UK, infact many photographer move to the area to benefit from this. Whereas, I am Cumbria born and bred, exploring the Lake District national park since I was a child. The Lake District is famous for its dramatic landscapes, rolling fells and breathtaking scenery. If incredible views are high on your priority list, these venues offer some of the finest backdrops in Cumbria - in no particular order...

Coniston Coppermines weddings
Nestled in the Coppermines valley alongside a Wainwright route to Coniston Old Man, this barn/tipi venue is a true scenic treasure.
Offering waterways with waterfalls and stone faced buildings that overlook Coniston water. An exquisite backdrop in all directions for photographs.

The Lancrigg, Grasmere
A central Lake District wedding venue, overlooked by the likes of Helm Crag, this 1600's country house is teamed with a rustic barn, and boasts acres of gardens to take in the views from. With flat lawn spaces, this venue is ideal for group portraits with a scenic backdrop.

Inn on the Lake
Situated directly on the shores of Ullswater, this venue is one of the most picturesque lakeside wedding hotels in the central Lake District. Aira Force waterfall, is a short car journey, if you fancy leaving site for a little while.

Hause Hall
Idyllic countryside wedding venue very near Hallin fell, part of the stunning, Rowley Estates.

Silverholme Manor
Set on the West (often appreciated as the quieter side) shores of Windermere Water, Silverholme Manor (house & barn) enjoys uninterrupted lake views and a wonderfully private atmosphere. The stone faced buildings and surrounding landscapes allow a streamline setting for scenic photographs.

Lodore Falls Hotel
Situated in the Burrowdale Valley Lodore Falls, offers dramatic scenery to be seen from the hotel. Limited to photograph options on site to include the scenery, nevertheless, adventures nearby allow stunning Lake District views over Derwentwater.

Cragwood Country House
Cragwood Country House is towards the top Eastern side of Windermere Lake, offering outdoor ceremonies to embrace the scenery right on the shore of the Lake.

Town Head Estate
Exclusive use barn / boathouse on the Southern Eastern shores of Lake Windermere, this beautiful venue has its own boat for private charter to explore Windermere Lake and the local fells. If you are a hiker, hitch up that dress and get up some of Town Head Estates private ground for some outstanding couple portraits overlooking the lake.

Lake District Barn Wedding Venues

Barn weddings continue to be hugely popular with couples seeking a relaxed, rustic atmosphere combined with modern comforts and rolling Cumbria hills. Ideal if a barn wedding is for you, but scenery is not at the top of your priorities.

Holesfoot
North-East of the Lake District this lovely exclusive use venue, offers more than just a barn for a ceremony. Infact it offers upto 5 areas:
The barn, pond jetty, the Italian garden terrace, the walled garden canopy, the long room. Accommodating for all weathers.

Low Hall The Lakes
A wedding barm in the North of the Lake District, not too far from Keswick. This venue was originally a farm that has been lovingly restored to a fantastic standard, and run by a lovely family. Meaning, your experience here is personal.

Eden Barn
One of Cumbria's most sought-after wedding venues, Eden Barn beautifully combines traditional stone architecture with stylish interiors. Rustic yet full of class and charm. For external photography the rolling hills of the farmland tie in nicely with the barn for a relaxed feel.

Barn in the fells
A short way from Ambleside, Rydal farms 'Barn in the fells' new but very old space is part of the Lake District history. Loughrigg making a lovely backdrop and various on site photograph opportunities.

Fairbank Wedding Barn
If you love the idea of getting married on a working farm in the Lake District, Fairbank wedding barn is for you. Situated a stones throw from Kendal, with views towards the central Lake District. The farm itself has a private tarn and acres to explore.

Yew Tree Farm
Yew Tree Farm, North of Coniston was once owned by Beatrix Potter in the 1930s. This farm wedding venue allows a "make it your own" experience. Their weddings are held on a seasonal exclusive basis late May - late August to allow for farming to also sit alongside the venue.

Hidden River Barn
Located near Carlisle (not quite the Lake District), Hidden River Barn offers riverside surroundings and exclusive-use celebrations in a converted exquisitely finished barn. The venue is sat on acres of grassland and woodland, allowing a natural feel for portraits all directions.
